Gibraltar Point, Skegness, Lincolnshire

Ten minutes up the road from Skegness is a completely different landscape. The Wash is a large bay and estuary on the coast of eastern England, stretching over 100 square miles between the counties of Lincolnshire and Norfolk. It is an important European-level coastal wetland, known for its rich wildlife, extensive saltmarshes, and intertidal mudflats that serve as a crucial feeding ground for migratory birds and seals. The area is a designated Special Protection Area (SPA) and National Nature Reserve.

Here we had our lunch in MAEV and then went for a cleansing walk, enjoying the peace and quiet and marvelling at the wildlife on show.
