Littlehampton and Arundel

We’ve seen the castle from the dual carriage way every time we’ve driven along the A27 and we’ve always said that one day we would like to visit – and today we did!!

It didn’t disappoint! olde-world architecture, boutiques, a Medieval Catholic cathedrals, a castle and a museum. A lot to do and a great day out.

We arrived by bus, and started our day having elevensees in a coffee shop on the river. We then strolled around the town, taking our time and just enjoying the atmosphere. We didn’t go in the cathedral as Mass was in progress and we didn’t want to disturb. We enjoyed visiting the many antique and bric-a-brac stores and then had lunch in a different cafe further along the river. After lunch we tried to visit the castle, but contrary to the website, we were not event allowed in the gardens with the dog, but we did go to a local art exhibition next door which was fun.

We jumped on another bus to head back to the campsite where we crashed with tea – and our fudge from the fudge shop and had some downtime ahead of going to the pub for dinner.
